The server is offline because so many people have gotten the game and crashed the server. They are looking to fix it but we do not know how much time it will take.

I had this same problem too so I called infinity war (number on back of the box) and they said that it was down because they were trying to fix the party invite problem and to do so they had to shut down the whole server.
