Issue basically by jarrod: Why do I keep having an intermittent Internet connection?
We have Zoomtown through Cincinnati Bell. Up until about a month and a half to two months ago service has been great. When the problems started it was pretty infrequent. Our Internet would go out here and there for about 5 minutes. This would happen maybe once every other day.
Now we are to the point where it is dropping service at least once a day anywhere from one minute to five hours at a time. The modem indicates that we have a connection but all of my devices have some sort of a “DNS server” type error. This problem happens whether i have something plugged directly into the modem or through my wireless router.
We have been on the phone with tech service over 20 different times trouble shooting (probably more) and they always say the connection doesnt show any interuptions. We’ve had 3 different modems from them. Two techs have visited but found nothing and have actually said our signal is excellent. I’ve upgraded my router from a belkin 50 to a netgear 150 to a netgear 600 (i recently exchanged the netgear for a new one thinking it was the problem somehow). I’ve swapped phone cords and also re wired my phone jack, all to no avail!
Has anyone had the same issue and if so, were you able to get it fixed without changing service providers?

You don’t say whether you’re in a private home or a multiple dewlling; if the latter, there may be an intermediary box in which there is a problem.
