How to add a single e-mail to the mail application on the iPhone?

Question created by laura: How to add a uni email to mail app in iPhone?

I’m trying to add my email address from Wilfrid Laurier University to the mail app, by going to “other” and adding the information, but once it gets to “Incoming Mail Server” and “Outgoing Mail Server”, I don’t know what to do! I looked for the SMTP number on the internet for the Laurier email, but I can’t find it! If anyone can help, that would be most appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Laura,

I’m in the same boat as you. I am headed to the MBA program, and I wanted to set my email up with mac mail. I just contacted the WLU help desk and they were pretty useless. In order to set it up, you will have to know the incoming and outgoing servers. I will keep digging, and if I find out what they are, I will post here.

UPDATE: I contacted Laurier’s Help Desk, and here was my reply:

“Unfortunately, the ITS department does not support the set up of student Novell Accounts on Blackberries. The easiest way to read your incoming student emails (WLU) is to forward them to an external/personal email address (ie. Gmail). Simply go into your GW account>Option>Rules>Forward>Create and enter the address of the email account you want the messages directed to. ”

So what I’d recommend is to do the above, and just forward emails to the email you use on your iphone…that should work!
