What I’ve done…
1. I went to “Network Settings” and clicked on “Infrastructure Mode.” Then clicked on “New Connection” It took me to “WLAN Settings” and I clicked on “Scan.”
2. I’m right next to my computer (which has a router and internet) so the “Signal Strength” is at 100% and it has “WEP” under Security.
3. Under “WLAN Security Setting” I click on “WEP.” I type in the “WEP Key” which I found on my computer.
4. Under “Address Settings” I click “Custom.” Under IP Address Setting I clicked “Manual” and entered in the IP Address.
5. Then I go back and go to Automatic, and again underDNS Setting. Under “Proxy Server” (which I have know idea what that is) I clicked “Do Not Use” but “Start” under Internet Browser”
6. Renamed “Home” and saved it.
But it still doesn’t work!!!

But, like the other person say, they require special motherboards. Those tend to be expensive since they’re made to be used as servers, which require more features than the standard consumer motherboard.
For instance, many of them have the capability to add more CPUs for SMP (symmetric multi-processing)…similar to multi-core, but actual processors are present (which they themselves can have multiple cores)…
Some components are hot swappable…that’s a feature that isn’t normally found on desktop motherboards…or slots for tons of RAM…all those things add up for the cost of a server mobo…

I do and it’s a wonderful way to get speed and excellent computing power without spending the money on an i7 or Quad Core. You need to make sure you match the motherboard and memory to the processor. Do a search online for “motherboard and RAM for Xeon xx “.
The boards generally are more expensive but not prohibitively more expensive. The only real issue I have is the RAM for my board is VERY expensive but I planned it that way so I’m not complaining!
The higher end Dell Precision line of computers use the Xeon processor. Xeon processors are used for high end equipment (mainly servers) but are the processors of choice for computers used by engineers because they can handle the processing power required for the specialized software.
The processor is compatible with all Microsoft operating systems – both desktop and server operating systems. No – you cannot “flip a few switches” to convert from a desktop OS to a server OS – there’s a world of difference between the two – but that’s not the topic of your question.
If you have one – it’s well worth the investment. Mine is 6 years old, never given me a single problem and still outperforms most every computer on the market today.

Answer by funkyalmond2003 Sometimes Yahoo runs a bit slow. I have had several instances where downloads taking extra LONG times, and pages not loading. Personally, I would 1. Run a Virus scan. 2. Run a spy ware scan. 3. Click on “tools” then Internet options. Then click on Delete, and clear our all your Cookie, temporary etc. files. 4. Run a disk clean up. 5. Do a Disk De frag.
Doing these things will speed up your computer while giving time for yahoo to speed up. If after all of that and its still giving you problems then you know it’s yahoo and not your PC.
If so then just understand that there are times when even the largest of websites just has more traffic then it can handle. When that happens, then the pages run real slow. In the worst case scenario the page can crash! I haven’t seen that with yahoo in over 10years.

Now slow access even w. a T1 connection. Games go out for no reason. Whatever service does as well. Often it is that is “we are taking a break”. Great…. My feeling is that it is time to move elsewhere on the net.
