Firstly, you need to get a network adapter (either one which uses dial up or one which uses broadband) then you’d need to register your internet settings and input your serial and access keys, which can be found on the back of the game manual. Once you’ve done that, you’d be able to connect to the server’s welcome page where either, it would ask you to purchase a HL (Hunter’s Licence) or if you have one, it’ll tell you how long you have left. The first month is free, however after that you’ll have to buy your HL, which you can pay for via the Gamecube itself or through, www.playsega.com.

The price for a HL is € 8.95 or £ 5.99 or $ 14.99 for 30 days, depending on where you live and what currency you use. The good thing about this is, if you have Phantasy Star Online Episode III C.A.R.D Revolution, you can use the same HL to play this online.

As for it being cancelled in April, I did abit of research and found this to be allegedly true. Sega Team announced that they will be shutting down Gamecube servers on the 1st April 2007. But there is an upside to it. For a month, from the 1st March 2007, It will be free to play online.

Finally, as far ‘free servers’ (AKA private servers) are concerned, theres one main one I know of and thats Schthack’s. You can connect to this server for free and all details are on the website I listed in sources.

Note: It doesn’t mention this but just to clarify, for the second method where it says “Via Connection Code”, The codes are in Alphanumerics (A Coding system which uses the numbers 0-9 and letters A-Z), You use these codes by inputting them into an Action Replay (A device which can be used to modify a game’s coding for desired effects e.g Infinate HP/Lives/Ammo, in this case connect to a different server). Although you need a (M) code (Master Code, Like an Enable code) to use these codes. This can be found easily if you google it.

The other codes which are in sets of 8 are in Hexadecimal (A coding system which uses the numbers 0-9 and letters A-F, The coding systeming which Dreamcast PSO V1 and V2 used.). These can be decrypted using GCNcrypt and the Alphanumerics can be inputting into the Action Replay.

I think thats about it. If you need anymore information, email me.
