umm well u can have 2 of them opened at once, one with 1.9 pre and one with 1.8 but idk how to do it any other way

Answer by Grimmie XII

You need to have two seperate minecraft.jar files: one for the prerelease, one for joining the 1.8 server. You can just swap the files back and forth in your bin folder to be able to do both.

%appdata% –> .minecraft –> bin –> the lowercase “minecraft” thats a jar executable file or whatever. Hope this helps SUBSCRIBE Server Release Previous played Minecraft able Minecraft 1.8 server where you will be able to subscribe minecraft 1.9 Previous Release 4 can be played? httptechkowns blogspot com

NOTE: Be careful not to mix up what files you open in SSP while using different versions of Minecraft. eg. using a 1.9 generated map in 1.8 will cause many bugs and world glitches.

Server Setup

Here’s my current server setup.. on a floating desk (well.. kinda) with no visible wires! everything goes round the back of the desk’s edge, then down behind the bookcase to the side then off to the devices attached. It’s just an iMac Intel Core 2 Duo 1.86ghz with 2GB ram, 160GB internal drive, hooked upto two 1TB USB2 hard disks, an Airport Extreme (dual band) with a 500GB drive attached, and a 1400va UPS hidden away, and also running OSX Server 10.5
